Brian Koeberle has over 35 years of experience as an attorney, well-known sports marketing agent, and negotiator. In short, he's a dealmaker. Brian is a graduate of Penn State (B.A. Political Science) and the Duquesne University School of Law (J.D.). While at Duquesne, Brian served as Associate Articles Editor of the Duquesne Law Review, and Founder and President of the Entertainment and Sports Law Society. He is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Brian is the former Director of Operations for the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA). While at MLBPAA, Brian was instrumental in growing the MLBPAA's marketing and licensing programs, both domestically and internationally. These programs marketed and benefited a group of over 3,500 former Major League Baseball Legends, including Hall of Famers, MVP's, World Series Champions, All-Star's, Gold Glove Award Winners, and Cy Young Award Winners.
In 1994, Brian left MLBPAA to establish KA Sports, a successful sports and entertainment marketing agency. As President/CEO of KA Sports, Brian produced numerous sports and entertainment events, and negotiated and drafted hundreds of marketing agreements between companies and athletes and celebrities. In 2022 Brian sold the agency to one of his key employees.
On the academic side, Brian is widely published in the field of legal issues dealing with sports, recreation and fitness. He is a former adjunct professor at Robert Morris University, teaching courses in Sports Law and Sport Event Management.
Brian currently serves as outside general counsel to a number of for-profit businesses and non-profit entities, who rely on Brian's decades of experience to guide and advise them on a wide array of legal issues.
Brian is married and the father of one son and one crazy Australian Shepherd. When not working, you can usually find Brian at his family's mountain home in the Laurel Highlands of Western Pennsylvania, hiking with the crazy Aussie, biking the local rail trails, or annoying his neighbors with his impromptu porch jam sessions, playing his bass guitar, bongos, or harmonica.
Lastly, Brian and his dog Scout compete in canine scent work, where the crazy Aussie has been bringing home numerous titles and placement ribbons.
During his 35+ year career, Brian has negotiated over 1,000 endorsement, marketing, and personal service agreements with Hall of Famers, Legends, and Stars of MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, MLS, WWE, MMA, NASCAR, the Olympics, and the Entertainment World.
Brian has guided the careers of a number of Olympic/World Cup Medalists and Amateur Athletes over the years in support of their quest for Olympic Gold.
Brian has assisted the nonprofit Willie Stargell Foundation in its fundraising efforts on behalf of kidney disease.
Brian serves as outside general counsel to The Roberto Clemente Museum, assisting in the ongoing development and operation of the museum and its charitable initiatives.
Brian serves as outside general counsel to the Energy Innovation Center (EIC), a business incubation and workforce development and training center dedicated to supporting emerging clean and sustainable energy markets and technology.
Brian has helped organize, guide, and grow a number of start-up businesses for his clients, from contractors to consultants, professional organizations to nonprofits, medical professionals to sports & entertainment companies.
Brian has assisted a number of his business clients in selling their companies for record sales prices.
Brian has assisted a number of his homeowners association clients (HOA’s) in correcting defective subdivision plans; transitioning control of the private residential community from developer to HOA; updating governing documents; appealing adverse zoning and regulatory rulings; and terminating outdated escrow agreements.
Brian has created effective estate plans for young families, retired couples, and high net-worth individuals.
Brian has successfully and compassionately administered numerous estates for executors and administrators of a deceased loved one’s estate.
